The Territorial Prison actually had its own band made up of inmates. This was largely owed to Madora Ingalls, wife of superintendent Frank Ingalls, humanitarian, and proponent of prisoner rehabilitation. She ensured the prison had its own library, band, and classes for prisoners' literacy and trades.
